Watering plants

Ben helping me water the plants :) the watering can is about as big as he is! If the plants continue as they have the last few weeks, perhaps we will have a pumpkin and a few tomatoes, along with a handful of other veggie/herbs if they survive too. First year for actually planting some in the small space next to our sidewalk in front, so well see if any animals eat my garden!

Why is there a monkey on my back?

Oh, yeah, I remember I was trying to clean the floor and pick up stuff (granted I was on my hands and knees getting stuff from under the table) and someone decided to climb on top...

in the words of Alicia... "momma, he did it"

Another milestone for Ben.. 15 months and figuring out how to open doors on his own. Poor Alicia wanted some Ben-free time in their room so she closed the doors on him. Ben got mad and determined to open the doors. Oh crap.

Diaper time

That's never a good sign. Haha. Well it might be when we are closer to potty training.. But Ben knows when he's ready for a diaper change, he'll grab his diaper and wipes and bring them over to us. Smart kiddo..

kitchen help ?

Some days I feel like I have 6 hands in the kitchen... er, well, maybe I do... Alicia loves to help, while Ben has been right up with her lately. He will push and maneuver his way up on the step stool with Alicia and try to help in the kitchen with us. He likes to try and pull things out of drawers and cabinets ALL the time. Ah fun times....

Ben's 1st Birthday

wow.. its May already, we didn't post about Ben's Birthday Party.
For Ben's birthday, we teamed up with Ben's buddy, Nathaniel who turned 1 a week earlier.
The kids both got to eat homemade cakes with all of their (and their sisters buds), and Mommies got to make a lot of food. I swear they could have fed an army, but it was pretty darn delicious. It was such a great party, I'm sure this will go down in the record books for Heather and Mandi!

Here are some pics from the festivities. Thanks again to Mandi and Jeff for letting us tag team up the party and hosting it at their house, as it was a huge success.

My mommy made me a cool shirt to wear and Nathaniel got to wear one too! We were stylin'...

#1 Birthday Boy!

A Golden Birthday for Ben

Ben celebrated his golden birthday this year turning 1 on the 1st of February. Poor kiddo though wasn't up to his normal self, as he had a yucky bug and had a quick trip to the doctor's office on his birthday to get checked out. Poor guy couldn't even eat a special birthday treat on his day because he was so icky feeling.

This was Ben most of the day on his birthday.. tanked, not from having too much fun, but instead trying to fight off some cold/flu bugs. Not a happy camper most of the day... :(

Luckily the next day, Ben was feeling much better! He was getting back to himself more and the doctors said that he could eat cake today! Yeah, that is enough to make anyone feel better! :)

Ben and his big balloons with mommy, daddy, and Alicia.
FINALLY! Some cake! A local bakery makes allergy friendly cupcakes, so I bought him a vanilla one to try out.

Yep... I think he liked it..

Shh.. Don't tell Ali...

Uh-oh.... Don't tell Alicia I just ripped her favorite kitty book. I'm innocent, really, mommy! First time to rip a book, and I think Ben was equally in shock from it too.. So hopefully he learned his lesson and doesn't turn pages like a muscle builder again. :(
