it's a great pumpkin story

The kids worked hard and planted some pumpkin plants at Grandma Kloss' house this summer. It was the first summer to try this "experiement" at Grandma's house, as we were not sure if anything would even grow there. Grandma hasn't had a garden there in years, but we thought it was worth a shot. The kids had fun with the planting process and enjoying seeing an occasional text update from Grandma Kloss on how the pumpkin plants were growing!

Glad Ben could entertain himself at Alicia's OT apt last night, as he was going on way too many hours up without a nap ..thought for sure he was going to nap, nope , he was full of spunk.. :/ not liking this wake up really early thing and sometimes not napping during day..

Catalog time

You can tell it is getting closer to the holidays as we are getting the specialty catalogs in the mail lately. Just yesterday we got an American Girl and a Fisher-Price one on the same day.. Boy the kids were sure happy and quiet for a few minutes reading and staring at the stuff they wanted! :-)

Homework and m&ms

Who knew how well homework gets done when there are m&ms involved... Plus someone keeps a close eye on them while doing homework.. Mommy went to sneak a few and got the stink eye and a talking to.. "Mom! Those are my m&ms ~ leave some for me!" Oops, she caught me trying to take one. Good catch, Alicia. She means business with her chocolate.. :)

I don't think this qualifies as cleaning up according to my definition ... He decided to roll the rug up with all the toys in it still...

My little handyman told me that I needed to fix his toy with a battery and screwdriver. So I removed the battery and then he took everything from me and was "i do it" and "I fix with screwdriver"

Ben and the Flying Evil Dr Pork Chop

Ouch. The kid has an arm and Dr pork chop, aka like a hard flying golf ball, is evil for sure. Thanks to a Ben tantrum this morning and a flying pig, note I was standing about 2 feet away from him, obviously it wasn't far enough to miss the pig. So I have a nice new cut above my eye/forehead. Instant impact caused some nice bleeding, fearing I maybe needed a stitch, I think it will be ok since the bleeding has finally stopped. Now to get rid of this darn headache/pain.. Ah, Ice pack to the rescue :(

Happy birth-ing anniversary day to me. Haha. :-) 7 years ago Alicia was just a teeny 5 lb - something wonder that came into our world, and today she is an excited, creative, sweet 7 year old girl! Happy birthday Alicia !!

I think these little duck guys are lost..

These mallard ducks normally are not in our driveway or neighborhood, lol, but Ben was sure having fun with them while they stuck around for a little bit today. :)

Maybe they were just waiting for the bus.. ;)

Duck visitors in the neighborhood

Somebody loved trying to be a duck this morning by following them around the neighborhood for a bit today. Ben was all, "Quack, quack, ducky, ducky" :-)
